Cavs extend win streak with another blowout behind Kevin Love’s big game.

The Cleveland Cavaliers continue surging with three consecutive double-digit victories following an upset blowout victory on the road against the Miami Heat. Rounding back to their impressive early-season form, the Cavs made putting out the Heat easy during the 111-85 rout.

With their opponents once again being favored by oddsmakers, a red-hot Cavaliers team pulled off another heist by racing to a huge lead behind a 14-0 run early in the game. Already leading by 18 by the halftime break, Cleveland continued to pummel a seemingly surprised Heat team in the second half.

Just as against the Dallas Mavericks the other night, the Cavs even led as much as 31 at one point in the game over a depleted Heat team, who played without stars Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler.

Tower City came up huge for the Cavaliers once more, but as Lauri Markkanen figured in a cold shooting night, it was veteran forward Kevin Love who stepped up to the plate to lead everyone in scoring with 22 points off the bench.

Center Jarrett Allen continues to build his resume for the 2022 All-Star with 19 points to go with 11 rebounds and five blocked shots, while rookie Evan Mobley was equally impressive with a nearly identical stat line of 17 points, 11 boards, and four blocked shots.

Time to take the Cavs resurgence seriously

Now nearly back to full health, Cleveland surges back up to two games above .500 with a 12-10 record for the season, and could resume their chase for a play-in/playoff berth while proving that their early-season success was not a fluke.

Injuries really hit the team hard early in the season, but the team showed great resolve despite playing one of the toughest schedules in the league thus far. During this win streak, the Cavs have held their opponents to an average of 91 points while outscoring them by nearly 20.

While it is too early to tell how sustainable their quirky formula for success would be going forward, the young Cavaliers have shown enough to make us believe that they will continue to play with purpose and resoluteness.

Cleveland will look to keep the streak alive as they remain on the road for a final game this week, facing off against another formidable playoff contender in the Washington Wizards on December 3rd.
