The Browns rode Baker Mayfield to a victory against the Ravens in the rematch.

The Browns saw Baker Mayfield carry the Cleveland offense on Sunday in the Ravens rematch. The first half was all Cleveland, as the Browns had Mayfield throw two touchdown passes; one to Austin Hooper, the other to Jarvis Landry. The team needed a big showing from Mayfield, whose offensive line was completely negated in the first encounter with the Ravens, completely derailing the running game. Mayfield did as needed and helped lead the Browns to victory on Sunday.

The Ravens were hoping to overcome the issues that plagued them in their first meeting against the Browns two weeks prior, where Lamar Jackson threw four interceptions, but that didn’t end up being the case. The Ravens offense, which was going nowhere with Jackson under center, saw their starting quarterback get hurt early in the game, and limped off the field never to return to the game.

Some poor management from the Browns coaching staff saw a team that was rolling in the first half stall out. With Jackson out of the game, it looked like Cleveland was going to roll the Ravens to an easy victory but the Browns allowed Jackson’s backup, Tyler Huntley, to do some damage to the Browns throughout the game. Coupled that with uneven play calling in the second half allowed the Ravens to stay in the game longer than they should’ve been.

The Browns were able to hang on, despite having no real rushing game to speak of, and closed out the Ravens season-series 1-1 with a final of 24-22. Cleveland has the Raiders next on Saturday.
