The Cleveland Browns kept their hopes of winning the AFC North title alive by staving off the Baltimore Ravens, 24-22, in Week 14.

We’re all celebrating the win, and the team got some clutch performances, but a gray cloud hangs over the victory. We all know the Browns have to be a lot better if they’re going to improve on last season’s trip to the playoffs.

If the Browns can’t get back to the postseason, they’ll have no one to blame but themselves, as they’re really in control of their own future. If they beat the Steelers and Bengals, and then get one against either the Raiders or Packers, the division should belong to Cleveland.

Obviously, a lot is different from a season ago. This isn’t a team you can believe in. They’re not like the current Cavs, a scrappy group who no one expects anything from, but wins by playing defense and maximizing their offensive opportunities.

Defense…perhaps that’s the saving grace of this Browns squad. After taking a ton of heat for the much of the first half of the season, Joe Woods’ unit is peaking at the right time. They’re especially tough when they go up against AFC North opponents.

Everyone’s got to be better if the Browns are really going to have a shot, though. Here’s five Browns stocks that are down in defeat.
