The Browns have no chance of defeating the Raiders now.

The Browns are done. There’s no chance that Cleveland can defeat the Raiders come Saturday, not with the recent news that another five Browns are out of the game. Worst of all, backup quarterback Case Keenum, who along with Grant Delpit, AJ Green, Ronnie Harrison, and Jacob Phillips have all tested positive for the virus.

These five now join those who have tested positive before, in Baker Mayfield, Wyatt Teller, Jedrick Wills Jr., Jarvis Landry, Austin Hooper, JoJo Natson, Takk McKinley, Anthony Walker, Jamie Gillan, John Johnson III, Troy Hill (also injured), and Malik McDowell.

Not only that, but the team also has injured players who won’t be able to compete on Sunday, including Jack Conklin, Kareem Hunt, Harrison Bryant, Anthony Schwartz, and Greg Newsome II.

That’s 17 players (and climbing) who are out due to COVID and another five out due to injuries.

The Browns are without 22 of their active roster. That’s 48% of the team’s active game-day roster. Nearly half. The league is a joke if they allow this game to be played on Saturday. There’s no way a team can reasonably expect to compete with half of its team laid up.

The Browns are screwed if they play on Saturday

The Browns can’t actually be expected to play without both their quarterbacks, three-fifths of their offensive line, three of their best pass catchers, four corners, three safeties, and their starting middle linebacker. The team they’re putting out there on Saturday won’t be able to compete.

Not when you’re integrating 22 new people into roles with no practices.

All while the head coach is held up at home due to also being positive. Again.

This is a debacle and if the Browns play on Saturday, not only will they not win, but their playoff chances go up in smoke at the same time.

There’s another issue that needs to be addressed as well; why would the NFL, the “champions of player safety” fly out the Raiders to face the Browns with it being the infection capital of the NFL right now?

It’s very likely there will be more players added to this list, as well. This is a joke of a scenario and everyone with a clue is telling the NFL what they need to do – delay the game.

Otherwise, you’re going to see a worse product than the UFL put on the field in 2009.

Oh, but we get David Njoku back. That’ll help.
