The deadline for members of the Cleveland Browns who are on the COVID-19/Reserve list for their Week 15 contest against the Las Vegas Raiders is Monday at 2 p.m.

The game was originally scheduled to be played Saturday at 4:30, but was postponed until Monday at 5 p.m.

While the postponement was a relief, it’s hardly a cure-all, as the extra day off in-between games allotted for more players to go on the COVID list. Most recently, the Browns lost James Hudson, who we all assumed would start at right tackle to the list.

That said, players who tested positive earlier in the week could start popping off the list. Takk McKinley was one notable name who was cleared to play, which helps, considering Jadeveon Clowney went on the list toward the end of last week.

I anticipate the Browns getting some players back, but we just won’t know for sure.

3 Cleveland Browns unsolicited observations

1. This is fluid, but as of now, it looks like Alex Taylor, recently elevated off the practice squad, will start at right tackle in place of Hudson. This means, Blake Hance would probably flip over to left tackle.

Michael Dunn would probably get the start in place of Wyatt Teller at right guard.

Worried yet? This is a leaky canoe that could be sunk by the end of the first offensive possessions, as one of the Raiders’ strengths remains their defensive front.

2. At the time of this post, Nick Mullens is the starting quarterback. If there’s any saving grace–and there’s not really–it’s he ran this offensive system under Kyle Shanahan with the San Francisco 49ers. that

3. I keep hoping Monday’s game will go down as “The Chubb Game.” Just look at what Jonathan Taylor did to the Pats last night: 170 yards and a touchdown on 29 carries.

Next. Cavs keep rolling, hunting down depleted Bucks. dark

Granted, Chubb will be bailing water from that leaky canoe, but we saw the Browns successfully run the ball behind a makeshift o-line in last season’s playoff win.
