Baker Mayfield is among five players activated for the Packers game.

Baker Mayfield is expected to make his return to the Browns in Green Bay, as Mayfield and four other Browns have been activated off of the Covid list. Mayfield hasn’t tested negative yet, but is expected to play and will travel to Green Bay on Saturday morning. Case Keenum may join him if he tests negative as well.

Joining the list of guys are Jarvis Landry, A.J. Green, and Ifeadi Odenigbo. Landry and Green are a go for the game, but Mayfield, Keenum, and Odenigbo are technically in a holding pattern as they wait to clear protocols.

The return of Mayfield and Landry gives the Browns offense some punch, which hopefully has been tinkered a bit since Kevin Stefanski returned from his second stint on the health and safety protocols.

Baker Mayfield and Jarvis Landry give the Browns their best chance to win

The Browns are going to need both Baker Mayfield and Jarvis Landry to step up on Saturday. It’s a must-win for Cleveland and the city can’t afford another loss if they hope to stay in the playoff chase. Baltimore is expected to be without Lamar Jackson when they take on the Bengals and the Steelers have the Chiefs on Sunday. If the Browns and Bengals win, then it very well could be a battle of Ohio to decide the AFC North.

Cleveland has to do their part to make sure that the game matters as much as it should. Mayfield and Landry coming back should give the boy sin brown and orange a much-needed boost offensively. Working David Njoku and Harrison Bryant into the offense more also help get the Packers defense to not stack the box so much.

It’s going to be a cold game but with mild wind, so there should be plenty of opportunities to pass. Jedrick Wills will not be cleared for the game, and it remains to be seen if Joel Bitonio will start at left tackle for Cleveland in the game.

While they won’t be mathematically eliminated if they lose, this game against the Packers is essentially ‘do or die’ if the team plans on getting to the playoffs.
