Kevin Love looked like an All-Star in loss to the Hawks.

Happy New Year everyone. We’re a day late with this Top 3 due to the holiday but we’re not skipping another day of work so here we are. It’s been a day since the Cavs lost to the Hawks but we’re still excited about what we saw, especially from Kevin Love.

The Cavs are still down a lot of their best players. We know that Collin Sexton and Ricky Rubio have been lost to the year, but they were still without Darius Garland and Cedi Osman as well. The loss of those two has hampered the Cavalier’s offense significantly. Rajon Rondo will be making his debut with the Cavs probably as soon as Sunday night against the Pacers and those three names should help Cleveland out long-term.

For the short-term, however, the Cavs didn’t have enough to beat the Hawks, falling 121-118. They’re now 20-16 on the season and currently 1-4 in their last five due to missing half of their team.

The three best from the Cavs’ loss to the Hawks

The Best Three Performers

  1. Evan Mobley
  2. Jarrett Allen
  3. Kevin Love

Evan Mobley only gets the single point for this game. Watching Clint Capela go off for 23 rebounds was a bit sad to see. He had a solid game, 16 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and three blocks on great efficiency. He’s gotta do a better job clearing the paint.

The two points go to Jarrett Allen, and he’s got the same criticism. Capela isn’t 1998 Shaquille O’Neal. He shouldn’t be pulling down 23 rebounds in a game against this duo. Allen put up 21 points, eight rebounds, and three assists on good efficiency.

The three points from the game go to Kevin Love who shot 50% from three-point land, on his way to a double-double with 35 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists. This sixth-man role is perfect for him. He doesn’t have to carry a team and can work really well against the second units.

Yearly Standing:

  1. Jarrett Allen (36 points)
  2. Darius Garland (33 points)
  3. Ricky Rubio (32points)
  4. Kevin Love (31 points)
  5. *Tie* Lauri Markken and Cedi Osman (23 points)
  6. Evan Mobley (18 points)
  7. Dean Wade (5 Points)
  8. Isaac Okoro (4 points)
  9. Dylan Windler (1 point)
