Kevin Love helped lead a third-quarter comeback against the Pacers.

The Cavs were able to get their first win since Dec. 26, 2021, by making a comeback against the Pacers. The Cavs came back from 11 down in the third quarter and finished the game holding onto a 108-104 lead over the Pacers on Sunday night. The Cavs have now moved to 21-16 on the season.

The good news beyond that is that Darius Garland and Cedi Osman are trending to a return sooner rather than later. Not only that, but the Cavs will finally have Rajon Rondo on the squad after a hold-up in the trade that ended up including the Knicks.

Just when that’s all happening, the Cavs found out that Isaac Okoro will be out for some time due to an elbow sprain. His defense and transition scoring has been very valuable for the Cavaliers and his shot has improved from his rookie year.

So how’s at the top of the tree with this post-game Top 3?

Kevin Love helps lead third-quarter comeback vs. Pacers

  1. Evan Mobley
  2. Jarrett Allen
  3. Kevin Love

The first point of the night goes to Evan Mobley for putting up 24 points and nine rebounds on 11-16 shooting. Normally those would be three-point level territory numbers but players like him, Isaac Okoro, and Jarrett Allen are judged just as much on their defense as anything and Mobley let Domantas Sabonis go off for 32 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists. Hence his box +/- of -8.

Allen gets the two points for the night, pulling down 18 points and 11 rebounds in a solid outing. Allen negated a lot of Myles Turner and while Sabonis still did some work on Allen, Allen’s box +/- was nowhere near as disappointing.

The three points for the game go to Kevin Love, who sparked the comeback in the third quarter, putting up 10 of his 20 points in that quarter alone. In the final 11.7 seconds of the quarter, Love caused a six-point swing that caused the Pacers to go from an 84-83 lead, to trailing 88-84 as the quarter ended.

Yearly Standing:

  1. Jarrett Allen (38 points)
  2. Kevin Love (34 points)
  3. Darius Garland (33 points)
  4. Ricky Rubio (32points)
  5. *Tie* Lauri Markken and Cedi Osman (23 points)
  6. Evan Mobley (20 points)
  7. Dean Wade (5 Points)
  8. Isaac Okoro (4 points)
  9. Dylan Windler (1 point)
