3. Browns potential Baker Mayfield backup: Marcus Mariota

Mariota is set to hit the free-agent market, and the career of Baker Mayfield is mirroring that of his fellow Heisman Trophy winner.

Mariota would be a better alternative over Keenum because he’s a better athlete. Additionally, we know the Browns formula for winning, and it doesn’t take 40 completions for 450 yards.

Like Mayfield, the Browns would want Mariota to go 22-of-27 passing for 220 yards and a couple TD strikes. If he puts up those stats, it probably means the offensive line and rushing attack are handing business on their end.

Plus, Mariota is more equipped to make plays with his legs and would offer Stefanski a different dynamic over what Keenum offers.
