Walterfootball looks at the Cleveland Browns’ first three rounds.

The Cleveland Browns’ 2021 season was not a very good experience for those involved, or for those of us watching along with them. They were a team that should’ve been in the playoffs but injuries derailed that hope, and now they’re watching the conference title games alongside all of us. That means it’s time to talk about the NFL Draft.

This year’s draft is a make-or-break year for this current regime in a lot of ways. They inherited a nearly finished masterpiece but after making steady improvements in year one, they stepped back in year two due to lackluster signings, poor decision making, and just an all-around inability to adjust.

Maybe it was hubris that doomed the team, maybe it was poor planning or maybe it was a chemistry issue. Regardless, this is a team that can’t afford to fall behind. The front office has done alright the last few years getting starters but this team needs impact players. Something they haven’t done well the last four years. Granted, that’s not all on Andrew Berry’s shoulders, but that doesn’t mean this team is in a place where they can afford more mediocre top picks.

The Cleveland Browns have two clear positions of need this year, wide receiver and defensive tackle. The folks at WalterFootball have their first three-round mock available and we’re going to see how it looks.

We’ll be evaluating different mock drafts, from all around the web, throughout the next three months, so we’re going to become very familiar with these names.
