WR. player. 53. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Ohio State. Garrett Wilson. 13

The Cleveland Browns are in desperate need for a wide receiver. The Odell Beckham Jr. experiment didn’t work, and there’s more than one reason why that was the case. Too many people want to simply that debate, and they’re glossing over many issues. Ridding yourselves of that headache was the right call.

He’s doing fine in Los Angeles, but it’s hard not to when Cooper Kupp is wrecking the league. Beckham wasn’t a number one anyone, and that was obvious. The Cleveland Browns needed a new number one and that’s where the selection of Garrett Wilson obviously comes in.

The reason for the Browns taking him in this mock is simple, at least in the eyes of WalterFootball.

"The Browns lost Odell Beckham Jr., so they’ll need to find a new No. 1 receiver."

Truthfully, Wilson makes sense for the Browns, but they need to add more than just one top guy. Jarvis Landry is no longer an elite playmaker after suffering that hip injury and the rest of the Browns receiving corp is either inexperienced or lacking.

So Willson will need to be part of a revamped receiver corp, hopefully, paired with a Pro Bowl-caliber guy across from him. That will help spread the Browns offense, something that’s been a problem the last two seasons.
