The Cavs finally made it happen, making a trade for Pacers wing Caris LeVert.

Cleveland parted with an injured Ricky Rubio’s contract, a lotto-protected 2022 first-round selection, as well as two second rounders (one of these belonged to Houston).

LeVert isn’t just a rental, either. He’s under contract for 1 1/2 seasons. If things go well, the Cavs could look to extend his deal.

Fans of the Cavs who have been paying attention all season know this squad has playoff aspirations, but trading for LeVert really signals the front office and the organization have decided to go for it.

“It” may be getting to playoffs and winning a series or two, but that’s fine. The post-LeBron Cavs need to start somewhere.

Here’s a look at four impacts the LeVert trade will have on the organization moving forward.
