The Factory’s first mock draft dropped last week, with the Browns landing Drake London with the 13th pick.

It’s obvious the Browns need a receiver, and ESPN’s Todd McShay concurs (subscription required), mocking Ohio State wideout Garrett Wilson to Cleveland with the 13th pick. London, by the way, was mocked 8th to the Falcons.

Wilson doesn’t have the size we all like. He’s listed at 6-feet, and we’ll really find out how tall he is at March’s NFL Combine. What he lacks in size, he more than makes up for in speed.

Some may favor a taller target, especially since the Browns have a smaller quarterback, lack of size certainly won’t rule Wilson out.

Four of the NFL’s top five receiving leaders are either 6-foot-1 or smaller. Justin Jefferson and Devante Adams are 6-1, while Diontae Johnson and Tyreek Hill are listed at 5-10. NFL receiving leader and Super Bowl MVP, Cooper Kupp, is listed at 6-2.

Browns: Other notes from McShay’s mock (subscription required)

1. Kenny Pickett went 11th to Washington. I didn’t have him going in the first round. End of the first round, OK. But top 11? I know it’s a quarterback hungry league, but if Pickett does go here, the team that picks him must be patient. The Commanders don’t necessary have a great track record at nurturing young quarterbacks.

2. McShay has the Steelers trading up to 17 to draft Liberty QB Malik Wilis. I could see the Steelers going with a quarterback who will ride the bench as Dwayne Haskins and Mason Rudolph get the team through 2022.

3. Center Tyler Linderbaum is slotted at No. 14 to Baltimore. The Ravens need help on the line after allowing 57 sacks last season. As a Browns fan, you’ve got to love that they’re burning a first-round pick on a center. We’ll see.

4. Joe Burrow gets protection via Central Michigan’s Bernhard Raimann.

5. McShay and I matched up with the first two picks, as we both have Alabama OT Evan Neal going first to the Texans, while Michigan edge defender Aidan Hutchinson goes to the Lions at No. 2. Detroit finishes the first round by selecting UNC QB Sam Howell.

If Detroit pulls off these two picks, the downtrodden franchise should finally start trending upward.
