Myles Garrett stole the show at the Celebrity All-Star Game
Myles Garrett made it known whose house it really was on Friday night. The Pro Bowl defensive end and potential All-Time sacks leader for the Cleveland Browns franchise may have laid to rest concerns about who the Cavs dept at its big positions.
The 6’5, 270-pound defensive end proved he was quite apt at playing basketball, but he should probably not quit his day job to take up with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Garrett had three dunks during the game, and a fourth as the game ended. It was the fourth that was arguably the most impressive, throwing in a windmill action to put it home
He also had an impressive block during the game as well, which then saw him trash talk Machine Gun Kelly. The two were wisely separated before Kelly was turned into a stain.
Myles Garrett wasn’t even the most impressive non-basketball player
I can admit when I was wrong and I was wrong to dismiss Gianmarco Tamberi, the Italian Gold Medal winner at the high jump in last year’s Summer Olympics. When he was announced ahead of other more local names like Stipe Miocic or Katie Nageotte, who won the gold in women’s pole vault in the same games, it was mildly annoying.
Yet, watching him dunk with relative ease, I’m now left wondering if maybe Tamberi could in fact have a future in basketball. I’m only partially serious about that, but he was very impressive as a dunker.
Yet, the best moment from the Celebrity All-Star Game came on commentary, when two ex-Cavaliers exchanged the best barbs of the night
Richard Jefferson was asked when the last time he played basketball was and said that it was when he retired. When fellow former Cavs player Kendrick Perkins was asked the same thing on commentary, Jefferson interjected with the most impressive of burns.
“About two years before he retired.”
