Grading 17 free agents Tony Grossi says Cleveland Browns have to consider in 2022
Must have free agents? The QBs
Mitch Trubisky, Bills, Grade A: I’m not so homer-blind to acknowledge that Mitch Trubisky is going to answer all the Browns’ prayers. That said, I think he offers more punch in a backup role than Case Keenum.
Trubisky is going to have more offers than some realize, though.
I do worry about the pressure of being the backup in his hometown, though, especially if Mayfield starts the season. After the first pick, fans will demand to see the Mentor native.
Nick Mullens, Browns, Grade C+: Grossi correctly noted how the Browns blew a chance to evaluate Mullens further in the meaningless finale against the Bengals.
After watching Mullens nearly pull out a victory over the Raiders with a COVID ravaged team, it would’ve been interesting to see Mullens operate with more weapons.
Grossi and I are in agreement, that Mullens’ fourth-quarter TD against Las Vegas was the team’s most clutch drive of the season. He’s 100 percent correct.
