Soon to be ex-Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield reportedly informed his team that he’d like to be traded to the Colts.

However, Indy may not be the best landing spot because Mayfield may have a personality clash with some important people at high levels of the Colts organization, via Tony Grossi of TLOD (subscription required).

"“A source speculated to TLOD [a trade to Indy] is unlikely to happen, however, citing Mayfield’s personality as not being a fit with Colts GM Chris Ballard and coach Frank Reich.”"

If I’m Indy, I’m looking to bring in Jimmy G. The 49ers asking price had to have dropped since Garoppolo got hurt in the NFC title game. Plus, the Niners are running out of teams to trade partners.

If the Colts don’t work out, there will be other options for Cleveland to recoup some of the draft assets used to acquire Deshaun Watson from the Texans. Our own Chad Porto wrote Cleveland would be lucky to get a third round pick back for Mayfield, who went No. 1 overall in 2018.

Seahawks also a trade candidate for Baker Mayfield?

Mayfield is also rumored to be interested in the Seahawks, but it’s unclear if they want him. Seattle picked up Drew Lock in the Russell Wilson trade.

Mayfield in the NFC west would be intriguing, as it’s not nearly the powerhouse that is the AFC West, or even the AFC North is now. If the Seahawks are looking to tank, then Lock is their guy.

The day will certainly go down in the Browns history books, for better or for worse. There’s a lot fans turned off by the sexual abuse allegations bering brought against Watson in civil court. The Browns have bet big on a someone with a trouble past. If he gets in trouble again, the franchise could feel the reverberations for the next 5-7 years.

From a football standpoint, the Browns significantly upgraded their quarterback position, which is what it seemed like they might try and do all season. It was surprising they took such a big swing on Watson, who commanded three first-round picks in the deal.

On the flip side, it’s strange that the Baker Mayfield era is over in Cleveland. It just seems like yesterday when he came into the Jets’ Thursday nighter and helped bust open the Bud Light fridge.

Then there was the NFL 100th Anniversary commercial where Tom Brady handed him all of those rings. Then there was the playoff win last January. It seemed like he’d be here for a dozen years.

Next. 3 former Browns the team should bring back in 2022. dark

I keep thinking N.F.L. Not For Long. Baker Mayfield just learned it and Deshaun Watson shouldn’t forget it.
