3 duds from Cleveland Guardians as Giants bust out sweep
2. Dud: Cleveland Guardians INF Owen Miller
Hard to bash a guy who’s actually hitting, but still can’t get over that error on Saturday night, when Miller failed to cover first base. If he had, the inning would’ve ended and maybe, just maybe the Guardians figure out how to win.
Instead, the Giants took the lead on the fielder’s choice, and never relinquished it.
In the series finale, Miller blew another double play, this time playing second base. He took a throw from Amed Rosario, tagged second, pivoted and instead of throwing the ball to Bobby Bradley, tossed the ball into the camera well.
San Fran scored two runs on the play, extending their lead to 4-0.
Miller was credited with the error, but upon seeing the replay, the Giants broadcast initially placed blame on Bradley for missing.
