The Athletic’s final Browns mock draft comes with big-time gamble

Browns Round 4, Chargers’ pick, No. 123: Alex Wright, DE, UAB

The Browns would add this pick in that made-up trade with the Chargers and Jackson takes a defensive end.

Jackson envisions Wright helping in some capacity during 2022, so the Browns would get some edge help if this actually came to fruition.

The UAB prospect is 6-foot-5, 271 prospects, so he has the body and could win a rotational role as he gets some practices under his belt.

With defensive end being such a valuable position, it’s hard to argue with this selection, especially because the Browns depth behind Garrett and Clowney was just OK in 2022.

Again, so much depends on Clowney coming back next season. If that’s the plan, then yes 1,000 times over. Give me Ojabo in the second and this pick add further depth.
