The Athletic’s final Browns mock draft comes with big-time gamble

Browns Round 6, Chargers’ pick, No. 195: Cade York, K, LSU

York’s certainly on Cleveland’s radar as the team looks to solve the kicking problem that’s existed ever since the Joe Banner-Mike Lombardi front office was all to eager to boot Phil Dawson out of town.

Cleveland.com’s Mary Cabot wrote she could see York going as high as the third round.  There’s no way I see Berry investing those resources in a kicker–even though we all know how valuable having a reliable leg can be at the end of the game.

This mock had the Browns going with a kicker, taking Chardon native Gabe Brkic in the sixth-round.

The Athletic’s mock drafters seem to agree, that the time to take a kicker would be the sixth-round. We shall see.
