17. DT Danny Shelton, 2015 – 12th

While currently a free agent, Danny Shelton was just in the NFL last season, playing 12 games for the New York Giants. Shelton has enjoyed success in the NFL, playing for the Cleveland Browns, New England Patriots, Detroit Lions, and the New York Giants. He’s started 72 of the 100 games he played in, and oh yeah, he won a Super Bowl.

All in all a solid career,

He was the 12th player taken in the 2015 draft, however, solid isn’t cutting it. He was taken over Marcus Peters, and that man is having one heck of a career. So no, having a solid career just isn’t good enough.

Yet, this is the Cleveland Browns and we’re lucky when a player has a perfectly mediocre career. Especially as a first-rounder.

Shelton has had some good years too, mostly in New England, where his run and Super Bowl win made him a major target by the Lions. They gave Shelton $8 million over two yearse. Not bad for a guy whose original team gave up on him.

To be fair, Shelton got the Browns a third-rounder in return, so he clearly wasn’t as bad as other players on this list. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to fetch Cleveland a nice return.
