11. OT Jedrick Wills, 20202 – 10th Overall

It’s hard to put Jedrick Wills any higher than here for one key reason; he was not the best player available at his position. That would be Tristan Wirfs. Wirfs is the best tackle prospect to come out of the 2020 NFL Draft, and it’s part of the reason he has a Super Bowl ring already. That and Tom Brady.

Yet Wills isn’t a bad player by any means. Underwhelming at times, sure. Not as impressive as Wirfs? Yes. A right tackle trying to play left tackle? Again, yes. That said, Wills will play 10 years in the NFL at a starter’s level and that’s not something to shake a stick at.

If the Browns’ draft history has proven anything, it’s that you can’t just assume you can always do better. Sometimes “good enough” is in fact good enough.

Wills can still improve, he’s a young man and is far from done improving in the NFL, but how much more will he improve? That’s yet to be seen. Sadly, we also know how easy it is to decline as a talent, and injuries may play a role in that. He’s been dealing with ankle injuries, and that’s something to be concerned about. Hopefully, that doesn’t keep him from being as good as he can be but only time will tell.
