Rain washed away six home games, but the Cleveland Guardians have finally hit the quarter-pole of the 2022 season following a 2-1 loss to the Astros Wednesday night. In defeat, Terry Francona’s group fell to 18-22.

As a team, the Guardians are batting .242, which is five points higher than the league average (.237). They’re 17th in runs scored (181), which is reflective of where the offense is at this point.

While the Guardians are swinging the pendulum back on baseball, placing more emphasis on contact, there are some games Cleveland’s lineup goes cold.

Look no further than that aforementioned loss in the Astros series finale. Getting a hit off Astros starter Christian Javier seemed impossible.

So here we are four games under .500. The Twins are starting to pile up wins and Cleveland finds itself 7.0 games out.

The Guards so have some young exciting players that make the games worth watching though, and who knows. If they’re able to string some wins together, a Wild Card berth could be in play. Perhaps it’s wishful thinking, but at the very least, I hope they can at least keep everyone’s interest through the summer.

Here’s a look at the team’s four biggest disappointments at the quarter pole of the season.
