4. Cleveland Guardians disappointment: Amed Rosario

Maybe it’s not fair to have Rosario on this list, but in the end, his performance has been disappointing.

Once one of the game’s top 100 prospects, Rosario hit .282 last season, leaving fans optimistic about his future with the club as the Guardians try and figure out a position for him to play.

But he followed up an intriguing 2021 campaign by batting .236 at the quarter pole. He hasn’t homered and while he’s not known for launching bombs, he hit 11 last season. Rosario is slugging just just .292.

OK, so if you’re not going to hit for power, just get on base. Well, there’s the low average and he’s not drawing walks, either, as his .281 on-base percentage reflects.

I like Rosario. He’s been a good sport about being moved around the diamond. But with so many prospects having reached or nearing their MLB born-on date, I don’t think his future is with the Guardians.
