What would the Cleveland Cavaliers look like with different drafted players?

What If? It’s one of sports’ greatest questions, especially among the fanbase. What if Kobe Bryant didn’t get traded out of Charlotte? What if Michael Jordan didn’t prematurely retire from basketball on two different occasions? What if the refs didn’t call every ticky-tack foul in the 2006 NBA Finals? What if LeBron James never left the Cleveland Cavaliers, twice?

So many questions that we’ll never know the answer to. There are so many that it would be absurd to ask anymore. What good could come from asking more hypotheticals? We’d be mad to do so. Heck, it’d be borderline rude.

So, hypothetically, what would the Cavaliers look like if they had to re-draft the last four years of talent and couldn’t take anyone they selected previously?

So the purpose of this is just for fun. If the Cavs had a second shot, what would the team look like? Now, to be clear, the rule is we can’t select the same player the Cavaliers already selected previously. It doesn’t matter if guys like Darius Garland and Evan Mobley were the right picks, it’s an exercise in creativity.

Not an indictment of the talent the team currently has. So please don’t rage about the selections.

I’ll be re-doing these drafts from the perspective of hindsight. Not, who they were prior to the draft but who they became. So yes, it’s totally taking the difficulty out of the draft process but oh well. We’re also going to be making picks based on who’s coming down the line.

So if a play-maker isn’t picked in 2018, that’s because he may be here in 2021. So with that, let’s see how the Cavs would look after our re-draft.
