Cleveland Browns rookie K Cade York

Browns fans have seen a kicker carousel at the stadium ever since the Banner-Lombardi regime all-too eagerly ushered Phil Dawson out town.

They’ve drafted (Zane Gonzalez) in an effort to find a suitable long-term replacement, and when that failed, they hoped to fix the problem by picking up other teams cuts.

Dawson hasn’t kicked in Cleveland since 2012, but the sense is the Browns have finally found someone who can keep the job for the foreseeable future.

In an OTA open to the media, rookie Cade York impressed with his leg strength, making 6-of-7 field goals. The final try was good from 58 yards, although several reporters have noted how it probably would’ve been good from 60-65 yards out.

Of the kickers the Browns have brought in since Dawson departed, no one’s exhibited the leg strength York has already teased.
