The Cleveland Browns may not have a shot at Will Fuller if Deshuan Watson is suspended for a year

Will Fuller seems like a long shot for the Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns now need even more help at receiver than they did last week, with the injury to Jakeem Grant. While Grant hadn’t been a big receiver option in years past, the Browns were giving him reps and were giving him good reviews. Yet, his injury not only ends his season but potentially his career. This means that everyone is once again looking the way of Will Fuller.

Fuller, who last played for the Houston Texans, was a name the Browns were supposedly interested in early this year, but by March they were no longer pursuing the receiver. That doesn’t mean that the rumors ever stopped, however, and now Fuller is once again a name on the Browns’ radar.

The only problem is that, according to a new rumor, Fuller is waiting to see what happens with Deshaun Watson. Aaron Wilson reported that Fuller still has a lot of interest in him from various teams and those teams are rumored to be the Browns, Bears, and Cowboys. Now, who knows how recent these feelings were, as a lot of changes in half a day, let alone nearly two weeks.

Maybe Fuller is once again on the Browns’ radar, but Fuller is monitoring the Watson situation, it seems very unlikely that he’ll sign with the Browns if Watson is suspended for a full season; especially if Fuller only gets a one-year offer.

The Cleveland Browns really could use Will Fuller regardless of Deshaun Watson

Regardless of what happens with Watson, Fuller is a needed asset for the Cleveland Browns. While he isn’t a number one receiver or maybe even a number two receiver, the Browns are relying very heavily on rookies and late-round picks to fortify their offense.

That’s not exactly the smartest move possible. Fuller won’t be a transcendent force for the team, but he can be a stable presence for whoever the quarterback is going forward. The Browns would be wise to pursue him for that one reason.

It’s great having young prospects on your team if you weren’t a playoff team pushing for the Super Bowl. Waiting to see what you have isn’t smart for a team with talent that’s getting older. The rookies should not be the priority.

Getting a guy like Fuller should be.
