The Cleveland Browns are taking on the Jacksonville Jaguars and these three players are going to be worth watching.

The Cleveland Browns are back in action on Friday, as they start the preseason off by taking on the Las Vegas Raiders. This marks the first of three pre-season games for the Browns, with subsequent outings against the Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears up next.

With the Jaguars coming to town, we thought it’d be a good idea to look at some of the players coming in who are either expected to play well or have the more interesting storylines coming in with them.

We’ll be looking at Browns players heading into the game who have similar stories around them as well, we’re just starting with the other team first.

Three Jacksonville Jaguars that the Cleveland Browns fans should keep an eye on

Trevor Lawrence

For Trevor Lawrence, he needs a good second season to really shake off what was a disappointing and hype-destroying rookie year. With so many rookie quarterbacks succeeding in the NFL from the jump these days, seeing Lawrence struggle was rough. He was the most touted rookie quarterback prospect in decades, and yes, he had a bad coach, but he was expected to transcend that. He didn’t play in the Hall of Fame Game so this will be Lawrence’s first test of the season.

Travis Etienne Jr.

Lawerence’s teammate in Collge, Travis Etienne Jr. broke his foot last year and missed the entire season, but if he can live up to his lofty draft position, this running back may just make the Jaguars interesting. It’d be even better if Etienne and fellow back-mate James Robinson are both healthy for 2022.

Jaguars’ three defensive rookies

The Jaguars are going to roll out three new defensive starters (hopefully) in first overall pick Travon Walker, fellow first-round selection Devin Lloyd and mid-round gem Chad Muma. The Jaguars may not have a lot of hype, but they have plenty of hope. It looks as though Walker will play outside linebacker as they’re running a 3-4, while Lloyd is listed as questionable on the depth chart. Muma will have to battle it out with former Atlanta Falcons player Foyesade Oluokun if he wants a starting spot. Oluokun has not been the most solid player so it’s possible.
