The Cleveland Guardians continue to win, taking the Toronto Blue Jays series.

The Cleveland Guardians will not be denied. This is their 9th straight series that they have not lost, which dates back to July 9, when the Royals took two out of three from the Guardians. Yes, there have been some splits.

They split with the White Sox, the Red Sox, and the Astros, but two of those teams are playoff-caliber clubs, while the Red Sox spend money like they are one. So it’s not like these are bad splits. The goal is to win a series, and if not, to not lose one. The Guardians have done just that and have strung together a stretch of games that have taken them from basically .500 to now sitting at 61-53.

That makes the Guardians officially a Top 10 team in baseball; and oh, by the way, they’re also the youngest team in baseball too. By a wide margin. They hold a 2.5-game lead over the Twins as of press time and are doing the ol’ Tito Shuffle through the second half of the season.

Not sure what the Tito Shuffle is? It’s basically this bizarre tendency for the Guardians to always dominate the second half of the season since Terry Francona has arrived. It’s remarkable as it happens quite frequently. Francona has turned Cleveland into a second-half team.

Which makes sense, as that’s when you want to play your best baseball. Two games with the Padres, seven games with the Mariners, and two series with the Twins (3 and 5 games respectively) are all that remains of the “tough” outs for the Guardians.

If they do their jobs, this is a team that could easily finish around 95-ish wins.

Cleveland Guardians vs. Toronto Blue Jays series review

Game 1 – Guardians win (8-0)

Cal Quantrill came to play, throwing seven strikeouts, and allowing just one base runner. This wasn’t a game of minimal offense overall, as the Guardians put up eight runs, powered by Jose Ramirez’s four RBI.

Game 2 – Blue Jays Win (2-1)

Triston McKenzie was nearly perfect but the Guardians’ offense couldn’t muster more than one RBI, which wasn’t enough for the good guys.

Game 3 – Guardians Win (7-2)

While Shane Bieber wasn’t lights out, he was certainly more than capable of holding down a potent Blue Jays offense. Amed Rosario and Austin Hedges each put up two RBIs, pushing the good guys to another series win.

Series Standout

Next. The fact Steven Kwan isn’t the front runner for Rookie of the Year is a joke. dark
