The Cleveland Browns are taking on the Philadelphia Eagles, but who should you be watching?

After practicing with the Philadelphia Eagles this week, the Cleveland Browns are ready to square up and show out. Granted, most of the “real” action took place during the training camp practices, but the two teams should still show something worth watching on the field come Sunday afternoon.

The Browns will mostly be sitting their starters, yet again, and the Eagles may sit many of their guys as well. It’ll be interesting to see who actually ends up getting time from each team, which is one reason to watch. Another reason to watch is simply to see some of the Eagles’ players. While everyone here is rooting for the Browns, it’s fair to say we are all fans of the sport.

So that’s why it’s always a good idea to keep an eye on other players. Especially the Eagles, as there remains a chance, I think, that the Browns could call about trading for Gardner Minshew, assuming Jalen Hurts doesn’t struggle.

Who should the Cleveland Browns fanbase keep an eye on from the Philadelphia Eagles?

Gardner Minshew

Minshew had a good first outing against the Jets, going 8-12. The Browns aren’t going to be too much different as far as what Minshew will see talent-wise. It’s unlikely that the backup Eagles quarterback faces off with the best the Browns have to offer, but it’ll still be interesting to see how he does with the decision-making process. His accuracy has been his biggest issue, but his ability to make smart plays is his upside. If he can be more accurate more often, he could be a real starting quarterback in the league.

Jordan Davis

The Eagles’ first-round pick from 2022 is going to be interesting for one major reason. He’ll likely play against Browns’ center Ethan Pocic, and if he does well, that means that Pocic did not. Considering how limited he’s been in camp, I’d be surprised if Davis doesn’t play, as the team would surely like to get some tape on him.

Reed Blankenship

Browns’ fans sure seem to be ok with Grant Delpit being their starting safety alongside John Johnson III. I for one am not impressed with Delpit (or Johnson). I think the Browns would be wise to at least earmark some safeties just in case Delpit or Johnson continues their woeful 2021 seasons into 2022. Reed Blankenship is a fan favorite right now for the Eagles, and if the undrafted prospect gets cut, the Browns may give him a shot.
