The Cleveland Browns are taking on the Chicago Bears in the preseason finale.

The Cleveland Browns are trying to figure out who to cut heading into the final days of the preseason. The Browns have until Aug 30, 2022, to cut down to 53 players for the current season. That means 27 names will be cut between Saturday and Tuesday.

The Browns are trying to figure out a few things, namely ancillary positions like backup receivers, fourth corner, and stuff like that.  The center position and defensive tackles may seem like they’re open still, but it appears the Browns have figured out who they want starting there.

So, these are the three names that have to prove their worth, or sadly, may not be able to, one final time. None of these names are starters (yet) but may offer up something to the team long-term.

Three Cleveland Browns with something left to prove

Jordan Kunaszyk

For my money, I think Jordan Kunaszyk is the 4th best linebacker on the team behind Sione Takitaki, Anthony Walker, and Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. I would keep him over Tony Fields II, Willie Harvey Jr., Jacob Phillips, and Dakota Allen. I can see the Browns rocking with five, maybe even six linebackers on the year. Right now, Phillips and Fields have the “draft privilege” going for them, so that means Kunazyk really has to beat out Allen and Harvey to get a spot, and even then, if the Browns only carry five linebackers, he’ll likely get released.

Glen Logan

I really liked what I saw from Glen Logan when he came in for relief from Tommy Togiai last week. It’s unclear who the Browns favor at the position but it’s been a tough watch. Togiai was getting moved off the block on rush plays, and Perrion Winfrey got little to no depth on pass plays. The team seems deadset on giving Jordan Elliot the starting job, and it doesn’t seem likely that they’ll carry more than four or five defensive tackles at a time, so Logan has to show out to warrant a spot.

Daylen Baldwin

Sadly, it looks like Daylen Baldwin won’t play in his last chance to impress. Baldwin is listed as questionable by ESPN, and if that’s the case, Baldwin likely won’t play. If he doesn’t play, he likely won’t make the team. Baldwin can still end up on the practice squad, and personally, I think he’s done enough that the team should find a way to retain him, even if it’s as a practice squad player.
