The Cleveland Browns have made their moves and we’re talking the ones that shocked us.

The Cleveland Browns have made their moves and while the roster is always shifting, we now have a pretty clear idea on who the Browns are going to be rolling into 2022 with. There will undoubtedly be more moves, namely one more cut, as the team will go from 53 to 54 players in Week 13 due to the return of Deshaun Watson.

Watson is on the roster but technically not counted against the 53-man cap due to his suspension. He and the rest of the practice squad team don’t factor into the final number. One other thing to note, while the team can carry 53 players on the active roster, and 16 practice squad players, the Browns (and other NFL teams) can only carry 46 on game day.

Why? Because the NFL has to make things stupid and complicated.

Before we get into things, three major moves have happened. The Browns have cut Isaac Rochell who was originally going to be in the third category of this article, and in doing so the Browns signed Kellen Mond from the waiver wire. He’ll remain on the active roster as the Browns’ third quarterback, though Kevin Stefanski has stated that Joshua Dobbs will be the backup to Jacoby Brissett through the first 13 weeks.

Two more additions saw Rochell and Josh Rosen be re-added to the roster, joining the practice squad. So now that we know of all the updates, let’s talk about the biggest moves from this week.
