The Cleveland Browns will have a tough test with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Cleveland Browns need to rebound against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3 otherwise their season will be an uphill battle for the rest of the way. By the sheer stroke of luck, the Steelers, Ravens, and Bengals are all struggling out of the gate, so the Browns can gain some traction in the division with a win here.

However, the Browns are not good themselves and have a very tough schedule ahead of them. Yes, the Steelers are not at the peak of their powers, and the Atlanta Falcons are not a threat to many teams, but the Panthers and Jets weren’t supposed to be either. Had it not been for a referee error in the Jacoby Brissett, intentional calling mishap, the Browns would be 0-2.

No one, absolutely no one, should consider any game the Browns play a cakewalk or an easy win. This defense is bad (as was expected) and the offense is wholly inconsistent. So to think the Pittsburgh Steelers will be an easy out for the Browns is misguided at best.

Three reasons the Pittsburgh Steelers will not be an easy out for the Cleveland Browns

The Pittsburgh Steelers defense is still formidable without T.J. Watt

The Steelers are 13th in the league in points per game at 18.5. They faced two teams who should be good offensively the Cincinnati Bengals and the New England Patriots. Both teams have better quarterbacks than the Browns and both teams had a hard time getting their passing game going. Had it not been for some real shenanigans, the Steelers would be 2-0. That’s all on the defense for being as good as it is.

The Browns make mediocre quarterbacks look good

Baker Mayfield is having a rough start, and Joe Flacco had not won a game for the Jets heading into their respective matchups. Yet, both players had varying degrees of success against this unit. Whoever the Steelers quarterback comes Thursday will also look to have a good game because the Browns have proven to be a well of endless disappointment against the opposing team’s passing attacks.

The Cleveland Browns are not unified

The biggest concern the Browns are facing is that they’re not a team united. Defensive starters are blaming one another, team leaders are vocally disagreeing with one another, the head coach is blaming the offense for the defense’s lack of abilities, and all the while they somehow bullied Nick Chubb into accepting blame for the loss. The guy who scored three touchdowns and kept your butt in the game is now accepting responsibility for the loss. This team is fractured.
