The Cleveland Browns very easily could lose to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Cleveland Browns are not in a stable place right now. The team is at odds with one another over a variety of issues, the offense and defense are, at their best inconsistent. The coaching staff is a wreck, and the ownership has proven that attitude really is reflective of leadership

It feels like the team just doesn’t want to be here, or at the very least, with one another. This is a squad that came in with a lot of hype, granted not all of it warranted, and has failed to find its footing throughout the early season.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are not world beaters but they’re competent. More so than the Carolina Panthers or New York Jets at least. So it stands to reason that the Steelers can easily knock off the Browns. Here’s why that may be true.

Three reasons the Pittsburgh Steelers could defeat the Cleveland Browns

The offense is inconsistent.

The Browns’ offense is a wreck. In week 1, the passing game was atrocious, in Week 2 it was the running game. This is not a team that seems to function completely at once. Getting Jack Conklin should improve the mediocre run blocking but Jacoby Brissett is still very up and down. How will he look against the Steelers, who are a much better defense than the Jets? Will Kevin Stefanski and company put people in the position to win, or will they make Nick Chubb own yet another loss that wasn’t on him?

The defense is lacking talent.

The Browns had a lot of pre-season hype for the defense, and it made no sense. They let go of their best safety in free agency, and they were already a Top 10 worst team in the league against the pass. Why anyone saw this season going any differently for the defense is beyond me. They gave up the 9th most passing touchdowns in the league last year. This is exactly how this season was going to go defensively.

The team is a toxic mess.

The team is a mess and filled with toxicity. This isn’t surprising, look at the men at the top of the organization. Jimmy Haslam has no morals, Dee Haslam has no backbone, Andrew Berry can’t admit when he’s wrong, and Kevin Stefanski has proven time and time again you can’t trust his game plan. Of course, this team is a toxic mess. There’s so much toxicity in this team they’re already having player-only meetings; two weeks in. It is far too early in the season to be having those types of conversations.
