The Cleveland Cavaliers preseason is starting off really well.

After the offseason the Cleveland Cavaliers have had, it’s fair to say the team has an aura around it that has never been there before. Well, at the very least, hasn’t been there for a long, long time. The team acquired not only the offseason’s biggest get, Donovan Mitchell, but also re-signed beloved and essential point guard Ricky Rubio.

The team is on another level at the moment, and the chemistry seems ripe for success. The vibe around the team is exceptional, and it’s being captured on camera now that training camp has started. The energy is hopeful and optimistic and for the first time in a long time, the Cavs look like they’re having fun.

Everyone seems to be matching the energy the fans have for this team, and for good reason, the Cavaliers are a top contender in the East, not just for 2023 but beyond.

The energetic atmosphere the Cavs are swimming in currently is stretching to the off-court activities. Forward Kevin Love heard about his good friend Larry Nance Jr.’s new contract and reached out to seemingly congratulate him but couldn’t connect. This prompted the best meme of the offseason as Love accused Nance of “big timing” him and ignoring the call.

It’s not true of course, Love is just busting Nance’s chops but it goes to show you what the general atmosphere around this team is.

This Cleveland Cavaliers squad feels very different, even from the LeBron James finals teams

The chemistry and vibe from this team are so different than any I’ve seen in recent years. Even dating back to 2014 when LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Love were all teammates. During that era, there were constant overhauls of the roster, no real chemistry among the team, and constant tin-fighting between all the players.

Isiah Thomas apparently couldn’t get along with anyone, there were rumors that Jae Crowder had issues with the roster at times, coaches were fired due to ego and the team just didn’t commit to the game plan when given one.

This team feels significantly different, and fans should get ready for a season to remember.
