4 things the Cleveland Cavaliers have to work on going forward

Darius Garland not turning the ball over as much
Darius Garland’s eye injury was not a good thing. Luckily he’ll be fine but the issue isn’t from his eye injury but in the five turnovers he had before he left the court. Efficiency is going to be the name of the game. The team has the talent, but now making sure the talent isn’t costing you anything is the key.
Turnovers and poor shot selection are two of the most likely reason a team loses. Garland is a pretty good shooter, so we don’t have to worry much about that but turnovers have always been an issue to a degree. While a bit more than three per game doesn’t seem like a bad number, keep in mind he is among the league worst in the league. He was seventh in the NBA in most turnovers per game, and while a lot of talented, high-volume players are up there with him, they’re either on better-constructed teams or have the same criticisms.
If the Mavericks want to win, Luka Doncic can’t be leading the NBA in turnovers per game. The same goes for the Cavaliers. When you play the elite of the elite, every possession matters. You can’t just fork up several possessions against names like Kevin Durant and Step Curry.
Efficiency is the name of the game and doing a better job protecting the ball has to be a mandate going forward.
