Kevin Stefanski pooches the game away in this week’s 3 Good and 3 Bad against the Ravens
By Chad Porto
The Cleveland Browns fell to the Baltimore Ravens due to Kevin Stefanski’s mismanagement.
The game started off well for the Cleveland Browns. The first quarter saw them score 10 quick points, with a touchdown run by Nick Chubb, followed by a field goal on the very next drive. The Ravens were able to respond with a touchdown and two field goals, making the game 13-1 at the half.
The issue in the first half of the game for the Browns was their inability to pick up blitzes and protect Jacoby Brissett. The Browns couldn’t get a running game going unless it was with Chubb and even then he was held in check outside of that first drive.
The third quarter didn’t start off any better for the Cleveland Browns. Brissett started off under heavy pressure and ate a sack up the middle, that Pocic just didn’t stay home to pick up. Then on third down, Calis Campbell got around and knocked the ball loose from Brissett.
The Ravens would push the lead to 10 mid-way into the 3rd with a 4th down goal-line touchdown.
The play would go back and forth into the 4th where the Ravens had a three-point lead, but a crippling series of poor choices doomed the Browns. On third and two, with Chubb eating the Ravens’ hull and digesting the bones, Stefanski calls a pass, which sees Amari Cooper shove off his defender unnecessarily, resulting in an offensive pass interference call.
The following field goal attempt would see some confusion over a false-start, that is convoluted at best, resulting in a field goal attempt of 60 yards that was ultimately blocked.
The Browns would go on to lose 23-20.
