The Cleveland Browns are shopping Kareem Hunt around but who are some dark horses?

The Cleveland Browns are shopping Kareem Hunt and by the sound of it, a few teams are interested. We’re hearing a lot about the Los Angeles Rams and the Kansas City Chiefs. Both teams make sense to a degree, but if the San Francisco 49ers getting Christian McCaffery proved anything, it’s that you can’t predict who is really in on a guy. That’s why today we’re talking about the dark horse teams who could be in on Hunt.

Now it’s important to note a few things. Firstly, Hunt isn’t very valuable. His trade value is at an all-time low and that’s partly because of the way he’s been used, but also partly because of the way he’s played. Hunt is not playing well this year. Whose fault that is can be a source of discussion for days. I’m not saying it’s Kevin Stefanski’s fault, nor am I saying it’s Hunt’s fault. What I’m saying is that regardless of whose fault it is, Hunt’s perception has been tanked.

So the fourth round for Hunt is lunacy at its best. The best bet for trading Hunt is just two try getting two picks. It can be two sevenths, just get two picks. That way you can swap them for more later on.

Secondly, Andrew Berry is going to look foolish if he does end up trading Hunt. See, Hunt requested a trade earlier in the year, before camp broke. Hunt still had a higher value. The Browns could’ve netted themselves a four or even third-rounder then. Hunt’s value was higher, and if more than one team is interested, you could’ve gotten the pick you wanted for him. Instead, you watch his value plummet due to his poor performances, and now you have to convince prospective teams that he isn’t washed.

Berry also can’t keep Hunt anymore either. This is a man who is known to let his emotions guide him, denying his trade request and then failing to trade him; if you think he’s bottoming out now, just wait.

Trade him, get what you can for him, and move on.
