The Los Angeles Clippers should be a cakewalk for the Cleveland Cavaliers but they still have some talent to account for.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are rolling. They are 8-1 and have not lost since opening night against the Toronto Raptors when they lost Darius Garland for a few weeks due to an eye injury. Despite that, the Cavs rolled, getting win after win, and doing so in decisive fashion. Even if some teams stayed with them in the first half, or had a lead, the Cavs have always found a way to win.

They have seven players with double-digit points and are winning games by an average of 14 points per game. They’re rolling and taking everyone with them. The Los Angeles Clippers are the next in line to try their luck against the Cavs.

The Clippers have not had an easy go of it lately, ever since getting Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, they’ve underperformed. Partly due to Leonard and George’s injuries, and also partly due to some rotation in the coaching department. Former Cavaliers championship head coach Ty Lue is now leading the team, and considering the fact most of their recent success is due to roleplayers stepping up, he deserves a lot of credit.

The Clippers have some good shooting, and keeping an eye on guys like Marcus Morriss will be key. But Morriss has not been a guy who, historically, beats teams. So what three guys do the Cavs need to watch out for?

Three Los Angeles Clippers the Cleveland Cavaliers have to prep for

Paul George

Paul George has a nice stat line, but you can see it in his feet he’s declining. His stats are all starting to fall and he’s the focal point of the team. That’s concerning. That said, despite his age and his injuries, he can still do some harm to you. The Cavs need to be mindful to not take him lightly.

Ivica Zubac

The Los Angeles Lakers once traded Ivica Zubac, a walking double-double away, for Mike Muscala. Zubac is arguably the best center in the Western Conference and proves it in each game. He’s going to give Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen frets. His ability to get guys open with his screens can’t be ignored either. He may not be an offensive dynamo, but he’s integral to their offense and defense.

Luke Kennard

Luke Kennard could be a team’s second or even leading scorer if given the chance. He is a fantastic shooter and deserves far more than he’s given. The Clippers have not used him well this season, but he’s still hitting his shots. He’s the type of guy who could really cause some damage if you don’t keep an eye on him. If the Clippers can draw up more plays for him, they’re going to have a shot. The good news for the Cavs, however, is that Kennard is currently injured and no one knows if he’ll be ready for Monday night.
