3 things that could happen this offseason for the Cleveland Guardians

The Cleveland Guardians could make some big moves this offseason.
The Cleveland Guardians are looking at an offseason that could define the franchise for the next half-decade. The team has to be careful and not rush the natural evolution of the club, but they also can’t stand pat and let this golden opportunity slip through their fingers. They’re a great team with just a few holes.
So, how do you fill those holes? Well, the Guardians have a few tricks up their sleeves and can help add some much-needed support to a club that was just a few small moves away from being in the ALCS.
It’s important to not blow up the team but several small moves, and maybe two moderate trades could be all it takes to get the Guardians back into the conversation for the ALCS and beyond.
Three moves the Cleveland Guardians could make this offseason
Trading Amed Rosario for a position of need
I think the Cleveland Guardians are likely to move Amed Rosario for someone, anyone but a catcher makes the most sense. At least, depending on who they trade him for. The future of Bo Naylor is really going to determine much of what the Guards do this offseason. If they think Naylor will be ready in a year or two, Rosario will get dealt for a first basemen/DH, if not, then they’ll go for a catcher.
Zach Plesac gets traded
The Guardos pitching is great, and with a few guys in the bullpen who are ready to take the jump to the starting rotation, like Eli Morgan, and Zach Plesac’s up-and-down outings and his combative personality, it makes sense to sell high on Plesac before his value drops. He’s still young enough to warrant a haul and if you can sell a team on him like Plesac is Mike Clevinger, then the Guardians can get a massive haul for him.
The Guardians sign a moderate free-agent bat to DH
I really think the Guardians will be spending money this offseason. Not like they’re the Monopoly man, but if the team feels they can get a good deal on a player, they’re going to offer him something. I expect this player to be a first baseman or DH type of guy, with some good power.
