The season may be slipping away but at least Amari Cooper is delivering.

Amari Cooper has played very well for the Cleveland Browns and is arguably the biggest reason why Jacoby Brissett has been as good as he’s been all season. So even though the Browns are heading to a losing record and watching the Houston Texans draft in the Top 10, the Browns can at least rest assured that Cooper is a good receiver for the Browns.

How good? Who knows, this is not a talented team and it’s unfair to say where he ranks at the moment. We need a season with a better put-together offense to really judge. That said, Cooper’s highlights from Sunday are at least one reason to be happy.

While we want the Browns to win, preparing for the future is important too. Maybe it’s the baseball fan in me, I’m always looking at the development of the team, and what you can glean from them, even if you’re a losing club. That’s why I think these players saw their stocks rise and why fans should have some hope for the future.

Three Cleveland Browns with rising stock

Jacoby Brissett

He’s not going to be able to kneel at the 50-yard line and throw it through the uprights like Aaron Rodgers, but Jacoby Brissett has shown that within 20ish yards or so, he can really throw a pretty pass. His passes to Amari Cooper and Donovan Peoples-Jones, especially later in the game for Peoples-Jones, were a sight to see. Here’s hoping he gets another chance to start in the league, as I feel he’s earned it.

Amari Cooper

Cooper really balled out for the Browns, with eight receptions, 112 yards, and two touchdowns, and probably could’ve had more. the Bills’ defense was intense all night, so the Browns were lucky to get what they got, but truthfully, Cooper was impressive regardless.

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah

The Browns saw Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah have 12 tackles (seven solos), a tackle for a loss, and a quarterback hit. None of it ended up mattering as the defense got ripped through like a tidal wave through tissue paper, but hey, he had good stats. That’s the baseline for the defense after this week; “looked good on paper”.

Next. Buffalo Bills all but end the Cleveland Browns playoff hopes in this week’s 3 Good and 3 Bad. dark
