Cavs Top 3: Cedi Osman and the Cleveland Cavaliers douses the Miami Heat’s fire
By Chad Porto
Cedi Osman and the Cleveland Cavaliers handled the short-handed Miami Heat.
As the great poet of our time, Dom Toretto once said, “It doesn’t matter if it’s by an inch or a mile. A win’s a win.” The Cleveland Cavaliers may have faced a Heat team that was lacking Jimmy Buttler, Tyler Herro, Gabe Vincent, and Victor Oladipo, but a win’s a win. The Cavs weren’t at full strength themselves either, missing Kevin Love and Dean Wade, and relied on Cedi Osman to lead the way.
Love is out with a thumb injury, and Wade has missed time due to his knee. To make matters worse, Caris LeVert went down mid-game with an ankle issue and is out now for the foreseeable future. So while the Cavs weren’t missing anyone on the level of Butler or Herro, the Cavs were still missing key players.
Despite that, Osman Ced to surge past the Heat to earn their second-straight win.
Cleveland Cavaliers top 3 vs. the Miami Heat
1 Point – Evan Mobley
Evan Mobley had an impressive double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds and even contributed five assists. It wasn’t the most dominating performance but it was a nice sign of things to come.
2 Points – Darius Garland
While Darius Garland didn’t have a double-double, he did have 25 points and seven assists. Though his five turnovers hurt him in his standing.
3 Points – Cedi Osman
The team leader in Box+/- was Cedi Osman, with a whopping +39. The forward finished with 20 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, a steal, and a block on the night. It was one of Osman’s best games of the year.
