The Cleveland Browns have a tall task vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Cleveland Browns are looking more and more likely that they’re going to have a very bad record at the end of the year. Many pundits thought the team would finish around .500 at worst, with a possible 10-win season a possibility.

Right now, a five-win season is the expected outcome from this season and that’s only if the embattled Deshaun Watson debuts and plays as well as he did in 2020. Otherwise, the Houston Texans are going to have a great draft pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

While there remains hope that the Browns could beat the Buccaneers, they are a huge underdog and the team has a habit of pooching these types of games this season.

Three reasons the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will win vs. the Cleveland Browns

The Buccaneers’ defense is very stout

While the Buccaneers defense has some holes in it, the unit as a whole is very good. They’re fourth in the league in fewest yards given up and third in the league in points given up. Basically, they’re really good. Are they 2002-Tampa-2 Era good? Maybe not, but they’re closer to that level than they are to being a mediocre defense.

The Browns’ rush defense is extremely bad

The Buccaneers are very reliant on Tom Brady, and Leonard Fournette, the teams best running back is out for the week. That being the case, the Browns’ run defense is among the worst in the league, so that doesn’t mean the team is going to be any better off without Fournette playing. A lot of teams who shouldn’t have run over the Browns this year have, so I would expect more of that this week.

The Buccaneers don’t turn the ball over often

The Buccaneers don’t turn over the football. They only have three interceptions on the year and only nine fumbles. This is a highly efficient squad and the Browns should e aware of this. They can’t rely on forcing turnovers to get stops, no matter how much the Browns have focused on that in practice this week.
