Kareem Hunt is among the 3 Cleveland Browns with falling stock after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game
By Chad Porto
The Cleveland Browns had late-game heroics against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but not everyone put their best foot forward.
The Cleveland Browns found a way to win on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with several key players like Myles Garrett, Amari Cooper, Nick Chubb, and Jacoby Brissett all stepping up to find a way to win. They all earned their paydays after the overtime win.
Yet, some players didn’t show up. Some of the team’s very best players didn’t step up when the team needed them the most. Considering the Browns needed this win in order to keep their playoff hopes alive, the team really couldn’t afford anyone not bringing their A-game.
it’s not uncommon for key guys to disappear in a game or two but the three on this list needed to step up and they failed to do so. Considering how razor-thin the margin of error has become for this team with regard to wins and losses, maybe changes need to be made going forward.
Three Cleveland Browns whose stocks fell
Kareem Hunt
While we can debate about how Kareem Hunt is being used, it should be noted that his stats don’t lie, nor is the criticism new. I’ve been saying Hunt isn’t an effective runner for two years now. He doesn’t try to avoid tackles but instead tries to make contact with guys. This is why Nick Chubb is the better option, as he tries to avoid making contact with any defender he can. Hunt has hit a wall and is no longer the same player he once was.
David Bell
While David Bell didn’t play a particularly bad game, he really hasn’t shown up in any game yet either. He’s just been there, and considering many, myself including, thought he could be a starter in this league, that’s not a good sign. He was drafted too high to be this unimpressive.
Jadeveon Clowney
The Cleveland Browns should be ready to say goodbye to Jadeveon Clowney after 2022. He’s hit the wall and it’s beyond obvious. He’s not making big plays, he’s hurt too often and he hasn’t had a big game since Week 2. Clowney was never worth the money he got in any of his last few stops so let’s hope that Cleveland catches on. He’s one of the worst pass rushers in the league according to PFF and his grade of 48.8 against a putrid Buccaneers offensive line is pretty much all one needs to know about his talent.
