The Cleveland Guardians can’t catch a break as Jose Ramirez is robbed, again.

So let me get this straight; if you’re a Final 4 contender for the AL MVP, a Silver Slugger, an All-Star, and one of the best players in your franchise’s history, you’re not good enough to make the All-MLB team? What?

Blaspheme.

Ramirez didn’t make the First or Second All-MLB team this year, because the league gave it to Nolan Arenado and Manny Machado. Neither of whom is as good as Ramirez, though they are very good in their own right.

Let’s be clear, this is about Ramirez getting screwed, not that Machado and Arenado aren’t good players. They clearly are. But Ramirez is just a little better. He finished this season with more RBIs than both men, more walks than both men, fewer strikeouts than Machado, more doubles than both men, more triples than both men, had more hits than Arenado, played more games, had more at-bats and oh, did it all with a bad wrist.

Yet Ramirez got passed over. The only fields where either man topped Ramirez was batting average and home runs. Home runs are becoming a stat I’m starting to loathe due to their inflated importance. They didn’t even beat him by much either. Arenado had just one more than Ramirez, while Machado had just three more.

Even the MLB.com article listed just averages, home runs, and RBIs as the reason why Arenado got the second-team nod.

Ramirez again gets screwed over by the MLB; make it makes sense?

Who were the other MLBs to end up on the First and Second Teams?

This one comes after recording 32 home runs and 102 RBIs for the Padres en route to finishing second in NL MVP Award voting.Second Team: Nolan Arenado, CardinalsThis was arguably the toughest call at any position. Though Machado finished as the runner-up in NL MVP voting, Arenado finished third while also claiming the Gold Glove and Silver Slugger Awards at the position. Still, Arenado’s first All-MLB Team selection will come as a member of the Second Team after hitting .293 with 30 home runs and 103 RBIs this season."
