The Cleveland Cavaliers need to re-focus after a tough loss to the New York Knicks, especially with Anthony Davis coming to town.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are apparently having issues with traveling. No, not going from location to location, but moving with the basketball in a game without dribbling. See most kids know that you’re supposed to dribble when you move in basketball, this is apparently an issue for the Cavs, who don’t seem to understand that concept.

The Cavs and Knicks both had a rough night, with there being way more than 10 calls for traveling combined against both teams. That type of mental mistake is part of the reason why the Cavs have slid to 15-9 on the year. Sure, a great record and a Top 4 seed still in the East but this team is far too talented to just be the 4th seed.

Those mental mistakes hopefully will be ironed out some before Tuesday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers, who are seeing a resurgence thanks to Anthony Davis. Davis, who’s dealing with back issues, is listed as probable and is playing lights out recently. They’re 8-2 in their last 10 and have won three straight.

Over Davis’ last nine games, he’s averaging over 35 points per game and has scored 99 points in his last two games combined. He hasn’t shot under 52.9% from the floor during the last nine games and is averaging over 15 rebounds per game during that stretch as well.

The man is NBA Jam’ing, cus he’s on fire.

The Cavs can’t afford to make mental mistakes as they did in New York on Sunday. With Jarrett Allen still out, and Dean Wade out nearly a month with a shoulder injury, the Cavs are going to need a gallant effort on Tuesday night from Evan Mobley, Lamar Stevens, and Kevin Love to help slow down the revitalized Davis.

If not, this will be a very messy outing.
