The Cleveland Browns are all but done in the playoff race and it’s partly due to these three players.

The Cleveland Browns watched their team choke away their playoff hopes on Sunday in their loss to the Cincinnati Bengals and so many people are responsible for this. From Kevin Stefanski’s cute play-calling to Deshaun Watson’s subpar play, to the defense and their inability to finish…a half. Let alone a game.

The team played poorly and they deserved to lose but while the team lost as a unit, some players looked truly awful in the loss and we’re looking at three of those players right here.

Keep in mind, there are plenty more players that could be on this list, but we only have so many hours in the day.

Three Cleveland Browns with falling stock

Jadeveon Clowney

PFF gave Jadeveon Clowney a 90.1 on the day. To further prove that this website is subjective more than objective, PFF gave Clowney a 75.6 in tackling. Tackling. You know, the thing he didn’t do when the Bengals’ Samaje Perine ran right in front of Clowney’s face and Clowney didn’t even try to tackle him? He got a 75.6? And he somehow got a 90 for pass rushing? No hits on the quarterback, and no sacks, but he gets almost the same grades as Myles Garrett, who got two sacks. Make this make sense. Clowney has been a bust for the Browns all season and it’ll be a glorious day when they move on from him.

Denzel Ward

Denzel Ward is not living up to his money. He’s supposed to be CB1 and he’s getting dog walked by Ja’Marr Chase. If it was just Chase, fine, but it’s not, it’s been poor play all season long. It’s not on Joe Woods either. This is his M.O. from even before Woods arrived. Ward is just an overrated player. A solid, maybe even good corner in this league but not worth the hefty contract he was given.

The Browns’ offensive line

Where to start? Do we mention all the penalties? The fact that no one, not even Joel Bitonio could open a hole to save his life. Yes, losing any one player on the line hurts, but losing a starting center should not impact running off tackle or in the B and C gaps. This team can’t get any movement. They were able to get Watson some time in the pocket. Yet, he stood there for four or five or even six seconds and then got swarmed. It wasn’t perfect but it wasn’t bad. Not as bad as their inability to create holes for the running game.
