Three Players from the Western Conference that the Cleveland Cavaliers should trade for.

The Cleveland Cavaliers could use some help on the perimeters. The team is struggling at times to find two-way consistency from the three spot (small forward). Right now the team is running with Lamar Stevens as their starting three, and it’ll likely see Dean Wade replace him when Wade is healthy to return.

Still, the Cavs could use some consistent shooting at the position, while not suffering defensively. That’s largely why Isaac Okoro has been frozen out of the starting lineup for most of the season, he can’t score. He’s a great defender but he’s an offensive liability. So anyone you get has to be exceptionally better than Okoro, without giving up much, if anything, defensively.

That’s why the Cavs should look for teams to trade with and acquire a shooter. For this list, we’re looking just at wing players from Western Conference teams who are out of the playoff race or aren’t expected to compete.

Honorable Mention: Jakob Poeltl

The San Antonio Spurs are looking to move Jakob Poeltl and while the Cleveland Cavaliers don’t appear to have a need for the big man, the Cavs would be wise to consider it; if all else fails. Obviously, the priority is to get a wing who can shoot threes, but if the Cavs really want, they can invest some money and capital on getting Poeltl.

The Cavs are a top defensive team but they struggle some when Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen leave the floor. Imagine the nightmare scenario when the Cavs roll out Mobley, Allen, Dean Wade, and Poeltl every game.

It’s not the most conventional move but the team does need a backup center, so why not?
