The Cleveland Browns have got to cut some dead weight heading into the 2023 offseason.

There is no doubt the Cleveland Browns have got to make changes heading into 2023. The team is not in a place where they can afford to drag their feet on improving the roster. They have a four-year window to win a Super Bowl. Maybe not even. So holding onto talents who are not producing is no longer viable.

The Browns have got to look at the younger guys under their rookie contracts and be brutal with their evaluation process. The team has got to win a Super Bowl to justify the nonsense they’ve gotten themselves into over the last year. If they don’t, people’s jobs will be lost and careers will be ruined.

If guys like Andrew Berry and Kevin Stefanski hope to keep their jobs and careers after 2022, they need to make the moves that they may not want to make and that means no more projects, and no more holding onto guys who are bad, hoping they won’t be.

Now, there are more than five you can cut, but I only have so much time in the day and many things to write about, so I’m sticking to just five and these five are the players I feel need to go. Yes, I understand they’re all young, that they can all get better and that releasing them may be a mistake.

I also know those bad players rarely ever get better and while it does happen, it doesn’t happen frequently enough to justify retaining project players like the Browns have loved drafting under Berry.
