Anthony Schwartz

Yup, the most obvious one is the obvious one. Anthony Schwartz has got to go. He’s fast as a lightning bolt, but he can’t catch the ball, so anything he can provide the team is beyond obvious. He’s either taking an end-around, or he’s in to fake the end-around. I don’t care, and neither should you, that he can outrun the wind.

Jarvis Landry was constantly being beaten by actual tortoises in races. Landry was a slow, but shifty receiver who caught everything. Had his hip not gotten destroyed, he would’ve had a long career as a top-flight guy. You don’t need speed. Guys like Landry prove that.

So seeing anyone defend Schwartz simply because he’s fast is like drafting a guy with no basketball skills because he’s tall. You need talent. You need to be able to play the game. Simply having natural skills isn’t enough and it’s the reason why Schwartz has got to be cut.

The Browns receivers are not good far and wide, and a lot of people are over-valuing them (yet again). They need to improve the group, add some real dynamic playmakers, and not keep relying on guys who have “potential”. The window on this team is less than four years.

No more “potential”, this team needs talent.
