The Cleveland Browns close 2022 not with a bang but with a whimper in loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers

Moderately improved passing game
I super-mega-loathe Deshaun Watson. I hope he has a perpetual hangnail that will never be cured. That being said, he throws a nice ball. At least in the first half before he again went into business for himself and tried to be the offense. Selfish play aside, that first half showed promise. He had a really nice pass to Donovan Peoples-Jones that arched beautifully. However, I’m not buying into his ability to lead this team. His decision-making is as bad as Kevin Stefanski’s.
The running game
The Browns’ running game went out on a high, at least as far as Nick Chubb is concerned. Sure, not everyone looked good running the ball, namely Kareem Hunt, whose use over Chubb continues to be exhausting, but Chubb did a great job against a stout Steelers defense.
The season being over
The best thing about a bad Browns season coming to a close is that it has done exactly that, come to a close. This season was ugly, messy, and just reeked of ineptitude, and while that won’t likely change in 2023, with each new season comes new possibilities, so who knows what 2023 is going to look like.
